NSRCEL’s newest incubatee on a mission to make parking simpler for all

NSRCEL’s newest incubatee on a mission to make parking simpler for all

                                                      Shampa Ganguly and Pritam Ganguly

Going around in circles to find a parking spot? Wasting fuel, time and energy and still can't find a place to park? Pristech Analytics may just have a solution that can make it possible to reserve a parking place in advance. Pparke, the parking analytics platform of Pristech can help malls, public parking providers, universities, airports, municipal corporations and just about anyone who owns that coveted parking spot that you are looking for, to better utilize their parking spaces and make life easy for the vehicle owners.

Founded by Shampa Ganguly, an IIMB alumna and Pritam Ganguly in August 2013, Pristech is the latest company that joins the elite list of companies incubated at NSRCEL at IIM Bangalore. The past incubatees at NSRCEL include companies like JustBooks, Amagi, Milap, MeshLabs and many others that have made an impact or even redefined the markets they serve.

Shampa Ganguly had started with mentoring at NSRCEL when the idea for Pparke started brewing in her mind. Over a period of one year, a couple of mentoring sessions later and with more clarity on her idea, she launched Pparke. At a mentoring session in April 2014, NSRCEL's mentor-in-residence, Nagaraj Prakasam, suggested to her that Pristech was at the right stage to get incubated. An EGMP graduate from IIM Bangalore and a technologist with over a decade of experience, Shampa says, "We are very excited about being selected for incubation at NSRCEL. It offers the best combination between academia and industry - with access to a world class network of mentors, faculty, investors, corporates and entrepreneurs. Additionally, being an IIMB alumna, I feel completely at ease in this environment."

Pristech Analytics' mission is to merge technology and analytics for improved business. And with Pparke connecting people with neighborhood parking, they are poised to help stakeholders provide a streamlined parking experience for their customers and in the process, make a city more environment- friendly.

NSRCEL, since its inception in March 2000, has been a focal point for entrepreneurship development at IIM Bangalore. NSRCEL's mission is to help entrepreneurs take enterprises from the idea to implementation stage. To promote entrepreneurship, the Centre engages in a wide range of activities that include running a successful business incubator and conducting pro bono workshops, boot camps, bar camps and fortnightly mentoring sessions. NSRCEL's 4Startups program, held on the first Saturday of every month, is a full-house event that regularly attracts nearly three hundred entrepreneurs at every edition. In a year, typically two hundred companies/entrepreneurs get mentored by a team of expert mentors as part of an open pro bono mentoring programme at NSRCEL. A large number of these mentees have gone on to set up new ventures or scale up their businesses.
