About the talk: AI is all around us and it is hard to read an article about any topic today without the mention of how AI is impacting the subject of the article. AI is also becoming more real as it starts getting applied to both mundane and complex applications around us. When we search anything online, we are using AI. When we drive, we are increasingly using AI. When we work, it is likely that we are using AI in various forms. As AI becomes all pervasive and increasingly intelligent, it is important to probe the question on how to best design the interface across humans and AI. While we cannot deny some of the benefits of AI, it is also important to recognize the impact, both good and bad, that AI can have on humans and on life in society in general. Additional challenges arise when one considers the use of AI in emerging countries with a large population like that in India. The session would comprise discussions on relevant questions and possible solutions around this theme.
