IIMB grad Sameer Suneja to head Perfetti Global

An alumnus of Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) 1994 batch, Sameer Suneja has been appointed the global CEO of the €2.25-billion Italian sugar confectionery makers Perfetti Van Melle. The 41-year-old Suneja, a former India head of PVM, may become the first one from outside Italy to head the privately-held firm.

He joined Perfetti Van Melle in February 1997 and was promoted to the role of executive vice-president for global innovations and business development, India in August last year.

Professor Pankaj Chandra, Director, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, says: "Mr. Sameer Suneja's achievement is a sign that Indian managers, who have succeeded in addressing diverse & complex markets such as India, have tremendous experience and exposure to lead competitive consumer markets around the world.
