IBM Faculty Award 2009 for Professor Sourav Mukherji of IIMB

Professor Sourav Mukherji is a receipient of the prestigious 2009 IBM Faculty Award from the Thomas J Watson Research Center of International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) . Sourav Mukherji is Associate Professor in the Organisational Behaviour & Human Resources Management (OB & HRM) area at IIMB. He was awarded the IBM Innovation Award for his contribution to research in 'Outsourcing' and related issues.

 

The IBM Faculty awards is a worldwide competitive programme intended to foster collaboration between researchers at leading universities worldwide and those in IBM research, development and services organizations and promote courseware and curriculum innovation to stimulate growth in disciplines and geographies that are strategic to IBM.

 

Sourav Mukherji is currently Associate Professor in the OB & HRM area at IIMB. He joined IIMB as Assistant Professor in 2003. He had earlier worked with IBM for three years.

 

Professor Sourav Mukherji's current area of interest includes 'Inclusive Business' and 'Corporate Social Responsibility'. Along with Professor J Ramachandran, he published a paper in the June 2007 issue of the IIMB Management Review (IMR) titled 'Outsourcing: Practice in Search of a Theory'. He was the keynote speaker in Bottom of Pyramid (BOP) Conference held at Deft in Netherlands in November 2009.  He also presented a paper on 'Inclusive Health Care Business Models' in a United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Conference held in Switzerland in December 2009. Professor Mukherji has written three Case Studies on 'Inclusive Business' which were funded by UNDP.

 

Professor Mukherji completed his B. Tech from IIT Kharagpur and Fellow Programme in Management from IIMB. He received the Infosys Scholarship for Research on IT industry in 2000.
