IIMB receives multiple honours at ELCITA Sustainability Awards 2024–25 on July 17

The Institute is recognised for its leadership in sustainability, biodiversity, and community service

23 July, 2025, Bangalore: IIM Bangalore has been awarded the Silver Award in the “Educational, Hospitality & Research Organizations” category along with the Award for Excellence in Biodiversity Management and the Award for Excellence in Social Welfare and Community Services, at the ELCITA Sustainability Awards 2024–25, underscoring IIMB’s holistic approach to sustainability and community engagement.

The awards were received by Col. S.D. Aravendan, Chief Administrative Officer, IIMB; Mr. Shivakumar K, Manager, Estates, IIMB; and Ms. Komala Devi, Administrative Officer, Hostel, IIMB, on behalf of the institute at the ELCITA Award ceremony held at The Oterra Hotel on July 17, 2025.

Top of FormInstituted by the Electronics City Industrial Township Authority (ELCITA), the awards aim to celebrate organizations that lead with responsible environmental action. Awards were presented across various sustainability pillars such as water conservation, wastewater management, rainwater harvesting, solid and organic waste management, energy conservation and renewable energy, air quality improvements, green infrastructure, biodiversity preservation, sustainability reporting, and carbon neutrality. IIMB was recognised among educational and research institutions for its impactful initiatives and commitment to environmental stewardship.

Prof. Haritha Saranga, Chairperson, Sustainability Taskforce, noted, “As you can see, while we are doing a lot, we still have much ground to cover.” These milestones are a testament to the collective dedication of IIMB’s faculty, staff, and students. As we look ahead, they reinforce our shared responsibility to build on this momentum of innovating, acting, and inspiring for a greener, more inclusive campus.
