IIM Bangalore community set to celebrate India’s 79th Independence Day

Alumni, faculty, students and staff, along with their families, are invited to be part of the celebrations

24 July, 2025, Bengaluru: Like every year, this year too, the entire IIM Bangalore community will come together to celebrate the momentous occasion of India’s Independence Day, on 15th August 2025.

Alumni, faculty, students of all programmes including participants of Executive Education Programmes (EEPs) and staff, along with their families, are invited to participate in the celebrations. All are requested to be present at the main parking area in front of the main entrance, by 9.35 am.

The 79th Independence Day celebrations will begin at 9.45 am with the unfurling of the national flag by Prof. U Dinesh Kumar, Director In-charge, IIM Bangalore, in front of the main portico and singing of the National Anthem. Prof. Dinesh Kumar will also address the IIM Bangalore community.

This will be followed by a patriotic song performance by IIMB students. After that, the announcement of awards for outstanding achievements will be made, including, Act Beyond Call of Duty, Social Service and Environment Protection.

The next offerings will include patriotic songs in Kannada by members of the Staff Recreation Club (SRC), ‘Nukkad Natak’ by students and a dance performance by members of Taal, the dance club of IIMB.
