In Her Name: Measuring the Gender Asset Gap-Â A Pilot Study to Collect Sex-Disaggregated Asset Data in Ecuador, Ghana, and India
It is increasingly recognised that ownership, access, and control over productive assets is an important determinant of a woman's wellbeing. Indeed a woman's assets not only contribute to her individual wellbeing but also to outcomes of the entire household, especially the future of her children. However, little data is available either as benchmarks or to understand the extent of women's lack of asset ownership. To address these gaps, this project proposes to collect and analyze individual-level asset data from three different countries and settings, Ecuador, India, and Ghana, with an overarching goal of enabling sex disaggregated asset data collection in national and international household surveys.
