R&P office to host seminar on ‘Efficient Formation of Partnerships in Social Networks’ on Aug 03
31 July, 2018, Bengaluru: The Office of Research and Publications (R&P) at IIM Bangalore will host a research seminar on ‘Efficient Formation of Partnerships in Social Networks – Theory and Experiment’, on August 03 (Friday), 2018, from 11.00 am, at Classroom K21. The talk will be delivered by Professor Bhaskar Dutta, Ashoka University and University of Warwick.
Bhaskar Dutta is Professor of Economics at Ashoka University and University of Warwick. His research interests include Cooperative Game Theory, Mechanism Design, Formation of Groups and Networks, Social Choice Theory and Development Economics.
Prof. Dutta earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Calcutta, and his Master's and PhD in Economics from the University of Delhi. He has been Professor of Economics at the University of Warwick since 2000, before which he was associated with the Indian Statistical Institute during 1979 to 2002. He has also been a Visiting Professor in several universities.
Prof. Dutta is also a Fellow of the Econometric Society, and the Society for Advancement of Economic Theory. He has been Chair, Standing Committee for India and South Asia as well as a member of the Council of the Econometric Society. He is currently a member of the Council of the Game Theory Society. He has also served as consultant for the World Bank, UNDP, ILO and ADB.
Prof. Dutta was the winner of the Mahalanobis Memorial Award of the Indian Econometric Society in 1990. He has published extensively in leading journals such as Econometrica, The Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Economic Theory, etc.
