Abhijit Ray, Co-founder and Managing Director, Unitus Capital, talking about financing the unorganized sector. His company’s policy of raising capital for businesses with huge social impact and bringing customized solutions was a huge revelation to students.

 

Meena Raghunathan, Director, Community Services of the GMR Varalakshmi Foundation, speaking on skill development, one of the key loopholes of the unorganized sector. She urges the community to understand the importance of skilling and quotes examples on how skill development can take the Indian economy to the next level.

 

Sumit Ganguli, CEO, GAVS Technologies, talking about how important technology and digitization are in bringing in disruptive innovations in the informal sector. He shares fairly unknown yet successful case studies on how digital technologies are making a difference to lives at the grassroots.

 

Team Chanakyas (Pranal Prasad Dongre, Mohamed Jaffer Ali and Vinod Sankaranarayanan from IIM Banglore’s EPGP) accepting the winners’ cheque after winning the Business Hackathon contest Nirmiti conducted as part of Sammantran 2015. They were awarded a cash prize of INR 45,000. The event highlighted the creativity and business acumen of the contestants, where they provided a workable solution to a critical business problem facing a large nationalized bank.

 

Team Red Devils (Gaurav Kapoor, Soumik Tarafdar and Shishir Sehgal from MDI Gurgaon) were declared the runners-up in the Business Hackathon contest, Nirmiti, conducted as part of Sammantran 2015. They won prize money of INR 25,000.

 

Team Well with Abhishek Puranik and Hari Krishna Reddy B from We School of Business, Bangalore, emerging victorious over MICA Ahmedabad with Aneek Das, Maninder Singh Chhabra and Kushan Dutta, in the case contest Abhyas, conducted as part of Sammantran 2015. The winners won prize money of INR 35,000.
