A small idea with a great future

Swapnil Gupta, from the Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management (2014-15) at IIM Bangalore, bested 900 contestants from 350 universities, across the world, to present his paper at the 45th St. Gallen Symposium as ‘Leader for Tomorrow’.

The symposium will be held from May 06-08, 2015.

The contestants were required to submit an essay on any of three of the topics related to this year’s symposium theme ‘Proudly small’. Swapnil’s essay, ‘The Austere Lifestyle: A way to optimize resource allocation using Consumption Credits’ impressed the jury.

St Gallen’s Symposium offers a premier opportunity for intergenerational debates, where young scholars can defend their ideas, share their thoughts and vision with the global elite, and also organize debates with 600 top global decision makers. The best idea will get the ‘St. Gallen Wings of Excellence award’ and a handsome cash prize. “Interactions with the world leaders and meeting with the brightest minds of today are sure to make the experience truly worthwhile,” says Swapnil.
