Dr. Anjana Dube

Dr. Anjana Dube is Chief Policy Officer at the Center for Public Policy, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. She holds a PhD in Public Policy from CPP IIM Bangalore, Master in Public management from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, and Master in Statistics from Lucknow University.
Dr. Dube brings over 30 years of distinguished experience in varied areas of official statistics, public management, financial inclusion, quasi-judicial functions, and board level governance in a Public Sector Bank. She previously served as Senior Regional Advisor at the Africa Center for Statistics, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), where she led initiatives in data stewardship, big data and capacity development with a focus on transformation and modernisation of official statistics systems in Africa and served in UN networks/collaborations like UNEN and GIST.
She has held senior positions in the Government of India, including Additional Director General, DIID (Computer Centre), NSO, and Deputy Director General, Department of Financial Services. Her contributions include development, management and release statistical products, national-level data management, data strategy, large scale data analysis, data integration, micro-data systems, survey of non-profit institutions in India, development of the Financial Inclusion Index, and public policy.
Her research interest includes financial inclusion, micro-finance, public management and data-based decision-making.
