MANLIBNET confers Best Librarian for 2018 award on IIMB’s Dr Rama Patnaik

The award, instituted in 1999, is given to MANLIBNET life members in recognition of their contribution to the library and information science profession and achieving excellence in managing libraries, designing and pioneering innovative best practices to render best possible services to the user community
10 December, 2018, Bengaluru: Dr Rama Patnaik, Librarian, IIM Bangalore, has received the ‘Best Librarian for 2018’ award from MANLIBNET (Management Libraries Network), which is an apex body of business and management libraries in India.
The award was presented to Dr Patnaik during the inaugural function of the International Conference on ‘Emerging Trends in Librarianship: Role of Libraries in Learning Environment’, held on December 10, 2018 at Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (IIM Trichy).
Congratulating Dr Rama Patnaik on her international recognition, Professor Ashis Mishra, Chair, Library Committee and faculty from the Marketing area at IIMB, said: “This is the result of her vision, persistence, passion and continuous desire for innovation for integrating the library of today with the digital knowledge centre of tomorrow.”
The association MANLIBNET was established in 1998 at the first convention jointly organized by IIM Ahmedabad and Ahmedabad Management Association, with the primary objective of providing a platform to improve the common understanding among management and business libraries, and to promote effective collaboration and resource sharing.
The award is given to MANLIBNET life members in recognition of their contribution to the library and information science profession and achieving excellence in managing libraries, designing and pioneering innovative best practices to render best possible services to the user community. The award was instituted in the year 1999.
