IIMB wins Rajbhasha Award for the year 2016-17 for effective implementation of Official Language

Award presented on July 27 at the ISRO Satellite Centre

27 July, 2017, Bengaluru: IIM Bangalore has been presented the Rajbhasha Award – Third for the year 2016-17, by the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (0-1), Bangalore. The award was presented on July 27, 2017 at the ISRO Satellite Centre, Bengaluru.

The Department of Official Language of the Government of India has set up Town Official Language Implementation Committees (TOLIC), of which Central Government Offices and institutions are members. Currently, ISRO Satellite Centre in Bengaluru is the convener organization of TOLIC. Apart from organizing various activities to promote the usage of Hindi, Official Language Shields have also been instituted to promote the progressive use of the official language. 

The Hindi Cell at IIMB organizes several activities every year such as workshops, competitions, Hindi Day/Hindi Fortnight celebrations, computer programmes in Hindi, besides implementing the Annual Programme of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Official Language, Government of India.
