RBI Executive Director to speak on ‘Government Initiatives for Financial Inclusion’ at IIMB’s EPGP seminar on May 16
14 May, 2018, Bengaluru: Surekha Marandi, Executive Director, The Reserve Bank of India, will address IIM Bangalore students as part of the EPGP Seminar Series, on May 16 (Wednesday), 2018, from 4:30 pm at Central Pergola.
The topic of Wednesday’s talk is ‘Government Initiatives for Financial Inclusion’.
The talk has been organized by the Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) Seminar Committee.
Surekha Marandi has been Executive Director at RBI since January 2017 and served as its Chief General Manager and Chief Vigilance Officer until December 2016. She started her career with the RBI in May 1983 and has over 30 years of banking experience working for various offices at the RBI, including departments of supervision, management services, Information Technology, Human Resources Management, rural planning and credit. Along with holding many positions in various capacities such as Banking Ombudsman, Maharashtra and Goa, Regional Director of the North Eastern States and Chief General Manager of the Urban Banks Department, she has been associated with various committees, including committees on customer service, financial inclusion and education, financial stability and financial sector planning for the state of Chhattisgarh.
Ms Marandi holds a Master's Degree in Arts from the Jadavpur University in Kolkata and has attended various advanced programmes at the Asian Institute of Management, Manila and St. Catherine's College, Cambridge, United Kingdom.
