IIM Bangalore to host seminar on Taking Research to Market on April 14
10 April, 2018, Bengaluru: IIM Bangalore will host a seminar on ‘Taking Research to Market’, on April 14 (Saturday), 2018, from 10 am to 01 pm, at Classroom N-102.
The seminar will deliberate on topics such as start-ups coming out of research, researchers becoming founders, technology transfers, co-creation, the possible opportunities and impediments, challenges to creating products and start-ups out of research, the rewards, how to get a market view of the opportunity, best ways to evolve a Go-To-Market strategy, etc. To sum up, it will provide a perspective on the opportunities and impediments in creating products and start-ups out of research. It will also have a Deeptech products – Go-To-Market Bootcamp, based on case studies.
Participants will include researchers, academicians, faculty members, tech entrepreneurs, members from start-ups, practitioners from corporate innovation teams, and CXOs.
Prof. Suresh Bhagavatula, Chairperson of IIMB’s entrepreneurship and innovation hub NSRCEL, will deliver the welcome address. The keynote speech on ‘Researcher to Entrepreneur’ will be delivered by Prof. Vijay Chandru, Founder and Director, Strand Life Sciences. This will be followed by a panel discussion on ‘Taking Research to Market’, featuring Dr. Aloknath De, CTO, Samsung India, Deepanwita Chattopadhyay, Chairman and CEO, IKP, Dr. Guru Prasad AS, Senior Architect, Sensors and Instrumentations, RBEI/EAG, BOSCH, Kris Gopalakrishnan, Chairman, Axilor Ventures, Prof. Rakesh Misra, Director, CCMB, Dr. Taslimarif Saiyed, CEO & Director, Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms, Prof. Vasudeva Varma, Dean R&D, IIIT-H, and Prof. Suresh Bhagavatula of IIMB.
After the panel discussion, there will be sessions on GTM Strategy through case-studies, and Co Creation Consulting and Technology Start-ups.
Prof. Ramesh Loganathan, COO, CIE at IIIT-H, and Prof. Suresh Bhagavatula will discuss the takeaways and offer the closing remarks.
