07 March, 2018, Bengaluru: IIM Bangalore, as part of the Business Government and Society (BGS) guest lectures of the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), will host a talk on ‘Jokes, Discourse and Democracy as a Business’ by Ravish Kumar, Senior Executive Editor at NDTV India, on March 7 (Wednesday), 2018, from 2.30 pm to 4.00 pm, at the institute auditorium.
Ravish Kumar is a TV anchor, writer and journalist who covers topics pertaining to Indian politics and society. Senior Executive Editor, Ravish has been with NDTV for over 15 years and currently hosts Prime Time on week nights. He is also an avid blogger, a story teller, a film critic, writes columns, and is the author of the book, ‘Dekhte Rahiye’.
He graduated from Deshbandhu College, Delhi and studied Mass Communication at Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Delhi. He received the Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Award for Hindi Journalism and Creative Literature for 2010 from the President of India (awarded in 2014). He received the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award for the Journalist of the Year in 2013 and 2017 in the broadcast category in Hindi language. He was included in the list of 100 most influential Indians 2016 by The Indian Express. He was named the Best Journalist of the Year in 2015 by Mumbai Press Club. In March 2017, Ravish was honoured with the first Kuldip Nayar Journalism Award for his contribution in the field of journalism.
