IIMB hosts talk by Citi MD on emerging disruptive technology and workforce trends in Banking & Financial Services on Feb 22

19 February, 2018, Bengaluru: IIM Bangalore will host a talk by Arindam Mukhopadhyay, Managing Director, Global Head of Identity & Access Management Operations, Citi; Global Head of Citi Shared Services (CSS) Strategy & Re-engineering, on February 22 (Thursday), 2018, from 11:45 am to 1:15 pm, at Classroom N 101.

Mukhopadhyay’s talk will be on emerging disruptive technology and workforce trends in Banking and Financial Services, the risk impact for banks, and the evolution of Global Business Services (GBS) model from a cost play to value play in mitigating risks and improving client experience.

Arindam Mukhopadhyay (PGP’94) joined Citi in 2008 and is currently the Managing Director in Citi Shared Services (CSS). Arindam heads Identity & Access Management Operations for Citi globally and is also responsible for CSS Strategy and Re-engineering (S&R). In his role as the Global Head of Citi’s Identity & Access Management Operations, Arindam manages a team of over 1,000 analysts located across five major global hubs in North America, Europe and Asia. Arindam is a member of Citi’s Information Security Risk Operating Committee (ISROC).

In his role as the Strategy & Re-engineering Head, Arindam develops and executes major initiatives, including Smart Automation and Location Strategy, for Citi Shared Services which is a 6,000-plus employees organization supporting major enterprise functions like Finance, HR, Information Security, Ops & Tech, etc. He is a member of the CSS Senior Leadership Team.

Prior to his Identity & Access Management and CSS Strategy roles, Arindam established and managed Citi’s Human Capital Reporting & Analytics utility, and led Global Management Reporting within the Finance & Risk Shared Services.

Before joining Citi, Arindam worked at a strategy consulting firm in New York. As an Associate Partner and a member of the firm’s Financial Services practices leadership, he had advised large global banks on their consumer banking strategy for USA and Western Europe. Arindam started his career with American Express Company (Amex), where he worked for over 10 years across several geographies in India, Asia and the USA. He started as a banker in Amex Corporate & Investment Banking group and later worked in Finance and in Marketing Analytics for Amex’s Network business.

Arindam has an undergraduate degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) and a postgraduate from IIM Bangalore.
