IIMB’s R&P office hosts seminar by Prof. Markus Brueckner from Australia on Dec 12

07 December, 2017, Bengaluru: The Office of Research and Publications (R&P) at IIM Bangalore will host a research seminar on ‘Inequality and Economic Growth: The Role of Initial Income’, on December 12 (Tuesday), 2017, from 02:30 pm, at Classroom P12. The talk will be delivered by Prof. Markus Brueckner, Australian National University.

Dr. Markus Brueckner is Professor in the Research School of Economics of the Australian National University. His research interests are in the fields of macroeconomics, international economics, and political economy. He has published widely in leading international journals and acts regularly as a referee in the peer review process of these journals. His research has been featured in Bloomberg, Financial Times, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and The Economist. He has been engaged in numerous consulting projects for the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

He completed his PhD in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Summa cum Lauda and MA in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, with Honors.

He endeavors to conduct research that provides a bridge between academics and policy makers; combines empirical analysis with theory; and stimulates the interests of a broad audience of students in Economics.
