Centre for Public Policy to host National Conclave on Disaster Management on 7-8 July

Two-day conclave to strengthen coordination mechanisms during disaster situations

03 July, 2026, Bengaluru: The Centre for Public Policy (CPP) at IIM Bangalore, in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Indian Railways, will host a two-day National Conclave on Disaster Management on 7-8 July 2026.

The event will commence on 7th July with ‘Exercise SAMYUKTODDHARA 2026’, a multi-agency disaster response exercise to be conducted at the Indian Railways Institute of Disaster Management (IRIDM), Bengaluru. The exercise will simulate complex railway emergency scenarios, providing a realistic platform for joint planning, coordination, and response among multiple stakeholder agencies.

The conclave on Day 02, at the IIMB auditorium, will bring together policymakers, railway officials, disaster management professionals, emergency responders, and subject-matter experts to deliberate on emerging challenges, share best practices, and discuss strategies for strengthening disaster resilience.

The conclave aims to strengthen inter-agency coordination, enhance operational preparedness, and promote a unified approach to managing railway-related emergencies and major disaster scenarios. Through realistic simulations, knowledge-sharing, and collaborative dialogue, the event seeks to advance a resilient, technology-enabled, and integrated disaster management ecosystem for Indian Railways and its partner agencies.

The event is expected to witness the participation of more than 300 delegates, representing Indian Railways, the National Disaster Management Authority, State Disaster Management Authorities, State Governments, the National and State Disaster Response Forces, Fire and Emergency Services, Police, Health Departments, Civil Defence, and other key stakeholder agencies.
