Research & Publications Office at IIMB hosts talk on ‘US Trade Policy’ on November 8
06 November, 2017, Bengaluru: The Research & Publications Office at IIM Bangalore will host a talk on ‘US Trade Policy’, to be delivered by Dr. Paula Stern, Founder & Chairwoman, The Stern Group, Inc., on November 8 (Wednesday), 2017, between 8:30 am and 9:30 am, at C – 23.
Dr. Paula Stern, is the former Chairwoman of the US International Trade Commission (ITC) and distinguished scholar. She founded The Stern Group, Inc. in 1988 and leads its practice, serving national and multinational companies and organizations on business, political, and tech policy issues that affect their competitiveness in a global economy.
As Chairwoman of the ITC, from 1984 to 1986, and a commissioner for a nine-year term, Dr. Stern analyzed and voted on over 1,000 trade cases involving a broad range of industries and issues. At the time, she was the second highest-ranking woman in the executive branch of the US Government.
Dr. Stern is a member of the US Department of Commerce’s Advisory Committee on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, the Executive Committee of the Atlantic Council, the Committee for Economic Development of The Conference Board, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Inter-American Dialogue, and the Advisory Council of the Wilson Center’s Women in Public Service Project (WPSP).
