IIMB-SPIC MACAY presents Carnatic violin performance by Prof. T N Krishnan on August 21
21 August, 2017: Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, in association with SPIC MACAY, will present a Carnatic violin concert featuring violin virtuoso Prof. T N Krishnan, on August 21 (Monday), 2017, from 6:30 pm, at the IIMB auditorium. He will be accompanied on the Mridangam by Vidwan TAS Mani and on the Ghatam by Vidwan Vaikom Gopalakrishnan.
Prof. Krishnan is the recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and is a Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellow. He has also been awarded the Padma Shri and the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India. As a violinist, he is an era in himself with an unparalleled ability to bring ragas alive and cast a magical spell on the listeners. Because of his unique technique, virtuosity and immense contribution in popularizing the violin as a solo instrument over a career spanning eight decades, he is regarded as one of the ‘Trinity of Carnatic Violin’. It is a rare privilege to be a part of a concert by an artiste of his stature.
