Paper co-authored by PhD scholar M. Joel Christopher and IIMB faculty wins Best Paper Award at RSFE 2026
Study on political alignment and bank lending receives second prize in the ‘ESG, CSR, Banks, and other Finance’ category
23 June, 2026, Bengaluru: A research paper co-authored by M. Joel Christopher, PhD programme student in the Finance & Accounting area at IIMB, has won the Best Research Paper Award in Finance (Second Prize) in the ‘ESG, CSR, Banks, and other Finance’ category at the seventh edition of the Research Symposium on Finance and Economics (RSFE) 2026.
The paper, titled ‘Political Alignment and the Allocation of Credit: Evidence from Firm-Bank Lending in India’, was presented at the symposium hosted by the IFMR Graduate School of Business (GSB), Krea University, from 17-19 June 2026.
The research study was co-authored by Prof. Abhinav Anand, Prof. Sankarshan Basu, and Prof. Nitin Vishen of the Finance & Accounting area at IIMB, along with Joel Christopher.
