28 December, 2018, Bengaluru: NSRCEL at IIM Bangalore, in association with Gamatics India Pvt Ltd and Khel Foundation, have organized a full-day program on sports management, to be held on January 03 (Thursday), 2019, at the IIMB auditorium, as part of the STEPP (Sports Talent Exploration and Promotion Program) initiative.
It is a fact that India can do wonders in sports if young sports talent is recognized and supported at the grass-roots level, and supporting pillars of their performances, the coaches, training clubs and educational institutes, are given their due credit.
In this direction, Gamatics India Pvt Ltd, in association with NSRCEL of IIM Bangalore and Khel Foundation, has started an initiative called STEPP (Sports Talent Exploration and Promotion Program). The pilot project is STEPP-Karnataka, focusing on sporting talent in Karnataka.
Under this initiative, more than 3500 applications were received across ages, gender, sports and geography. Three months of intensive analytics was carried out to identify the top 200-plus sports talent, over 50 coaches, more than 50 clubs and over 40 educational institutes.
To recognize and award this kind of talent, IIMB is hosting a full-day program on January 03, focused on brainstorming, networking and chalking out plans on how to strengthen sports from the grass-roots level, followed by an awards function.
The program is expected to be attended by prominent personalities from sports, government, social, corporate, investment and various other sectors.
