EPGP seminar with members of Mumbai Dabbawala on ‘Operations and Supply Chain Management of Mumbai Dabbawala’ on Jan 09
01 January, 2019, Bengaluru: Ritesh S Andre, Co-ordinator and Spokesperson, Nutan Mumbai Tiffin Box Suppliers Charity Trust (Mumbai Dabbawala), and Santosh S Shejwal, field employee at the trust, will address IIM Bangalore students as part of the EPGP Seminar Series, on January 09 (Wednesday), 2019.
The topic of the talk is, ‘Operations and Supply Chain Management of Mumbai Dabbawala’.
The talk has been organized by the Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) Seminar Committee.
Ritesh Andre (MBA-Finance) is currently working with Nutan Mumbai Tiffin Box Suppliers charity trust (Mumbai Dabbawala) as the Co-ordinator and Speaker. His great-grandfather started this service in Mumbai. He has been with the organization since January 2017. He started working on the website of the association through which people, not only in India but across the globe, connect with Dabbawalas. He speaks and presents on behalf of the association at various events where Dabbawalas are invited. A number of companies contact Dabbawalas for doing advertising campaigns as Dabbawalas reach out to a few lakh customers every day. He, along with the advertising team, coordinates and executes these advertising campaigns. He has set up a sub-network in the existing network of Dabbawalas through which products like organic milk, health juices, etc. are delivered providing logistical solution to companies in Mumbai. He is also working for development and execution of some of the programs of the association like ‘A Day with Dabbawalas’, as well as creating new opportunities for the association.
Sathosh S Sejwal is an employee of the trust. He is associated with daily field activities of Dabbawala.
