IIMB’s PGP students win Asian Paints Canvas 2021 Contest
Chirag Mehta, Divya Ahuja and Prachi Arora bested 972 teams to bag the honour
14 NOVEMBER, 2021: A team of IIMB students, called ‘Slice of Art’ and comprising Chirag Mehta, Divya Ahuja and Prachi Arora, all students of PGP 2020-22 at IIM Bangalore, has won the Asian Paints Canvas 2021 contest, held on 8th November.
The IIMB team bested 972 teams from 12 eligible campuses from across the country. The IIMB Director, Professor Rishikesha T Krishnan, expressed his delight at the team’s victory.
Asian Paints Canvas 2021 was the 10th edition of the case competition held by the company every year. Participants are required to work on a live problem statement that the company is facing.
This year, the ask was to analyse the consumer journey and insights for a new category development within home decor in India. The teams were asked to analyse their existing propositions as well as recommend new product lines that Asian Paints could venture into. But more importantly, they were also asked to develop an in-depth marketing strategy as well as financials to support profitability and bottom line growth for the company.
“For the past month and a half, we have been working on this case. We had our first victory at the campus level on 29th September and then went on to win the finals on 8th November 2021,” says Divya.
The finals were judged by a panel comprising Amit Syngle, MD & CEO, Aashish Kshetry, VP, HR and Systems, Sumit Midha, Associate Vice President, Retail Sales and Marketing, and Lakshmi Narayanan B – General Manager, Marketing.
