PGPPM Policy Speaks talk on ‘Citius, Altius, Fortius: A History of How the World Became Efficient’ on Jan 09
08 January, 2019, Bengaluru: A special talk titled, ‘Citius, Altius, Fortius: A History of How the World Became Efficient’ has been organized by IIM Bangalore’s Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy & Management (PGPPM), to be held on January 09 (Wednesday), 2019, from 2.30 pm to 4.00 pm, in Classroom N-202, as part of PGPPM’s event ‘Policy Speaks’, a Public Policy talk series. The talk will be delivered by Professor Deepak Malghan, faculty of the Public Policy area, IIM Bangalore.
The theme behind the talk would be the historical and political perspective of the spread of economic efficiency across the globe.
Dr. Deepak Malghan is an ecological economist with primary interest in theoretical models of the economy-ecosystem interaction problem. His empirical research interests are centred on social metabolism and ecological distribution (especially as they intersect with social hydrology). His research is highly interdisciplinary and routinely uses tools from economics, chemical engineering, ecology, and historical analysis.
Dr. Malghan's professional honours include the V.K.R.V. Rao Prize in Social Sciences (2015), the Fung Global Fellowship at Princeton University (2014), and the New Indian Foundation Fellowship (2006).
