19 September, 2022, Bengaluru: IIM Bangalore’s Doctoral Candidate Pragati from the Economics area has been selected for the GLO Virtual Young Scholars Program 2022-23. Through this program, Pragati will collaborate virtually with researchers of her area from other countries, which should culminate in a research paper by the end of the program.

Global Labor Organization (GLO) is a leading global network of economists focused on labor market and other issues. GLO's Virtual Young Scholars Program (GLO VirtYS) provides young scholars a platform for collaborating with eminent scholars worldwide.

Congratulating Pragati on her achievement, Prof. Ananth Krishnamurthy, Chairperson, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), and faculty of Decision Sciences, IIMB, said, “Such productive collaborations will help you author brilliant papers, have your papers published in eminent publications and set an example for other Doctoral candidates.”

Pragati's research interests span labor economics, health economics and applied econometrics. During the program, she will examine how social welfare programs relate to girls' education. Her PhD supervisor is Prof. Tirthatanmoy Das of the Economics area, IIMB.
