Professor B Mahadevan selected to be part of the High Powered Committee of the Indian Knowledge Systems

18 October, 2022, Bengaluru: Professor B Mahadevan of the Production & Operations Management area at IIM Bangalore has been selected to be part of the recently constituted High Powered Committee (HPC) of the Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS). Prof. Mahadevan is the lead author of the book, ‘Introduction to Indian Knowledge Systems: Concepts and Applications’, released earlier this year.

The Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, has constituted a 22-member High Powered Committee of the Indian Knowledge Systems. Dr. Radhakrishnan, Former Chairman of ISRO and Chairman, Board of Governors, IIT Kanpur, is the Chairman of the Committee, while Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, is the President of the Committee. The list of members also includes eminent names from the field of education.

IKS is an innovative cell under the Ministry of Education (MoE) at the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. It is established to promote interdisciplinary research on all aspects of IKS, as well as preserve and disseminate IKS for further research and societal applications. The HPC will be an apex body aimed to monitor the outcomes, give directions to the implementation committee and report the progress and outcomes.
