IIM Bangalore to host the quarterfinal round of Hult Prize 2022 on February 27

The annual competition, conducted by the Hult Prize Foundation, awards one million dollars in start-up funding to a team of students that develops the most radical and breakthrough idea to solve one of world's most challenging and relevant social challenges

08 February, 2022, Bengaluru: IIM Bangalore will host the 'OnCampus Event' of the Hult Prize competition, a prestigious global student competition, on February 27 (Sunday), 2022, after a hiatus of three years. The annual competition, conducted by the Hult Prize Foundation, awards one million dollars in start-up funding to a team of students that develops the most radical and breakthrough idea to solve one of world's most challenging and relevant social challenges. The theme for this year is ‘Getting the World Back to Work’, which revolves around creating meaningful work opportunities as millions of people lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event on February 27, the quarterfinal round, will be held in association with ICON – The Consulting Club at IIMB.

Intending to transform how young people envision their potential as leaders of change in the world around them, the Hult Prize Foundation is hosting college and university events globally, searching for the next, most disruptive social entrepreneurship idea.

The winners of the intra-campus event at IIM Bangalore will advance to compete in one among a dozen virtual Regional Summits. One winning team from each Regional Summit will then move onto a Global Accelerator Program, where participants will receive mentorship, advisory, and strategic planning as they create prototypes and set up to launch their new social business. On progressing to the Global Finals, the teams will pitch their business idea to an esteemed panel of judges and get the opportunity to receive funding of $1,000,000 from the Hult Prize Foundation.

The Hult Prize Global Finals are scheduled for September 2022.
