Faculty Position: RBI Chair Professor in Economics

Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) invites applications and nominations for the position of RBI Chair Professor in Economics.

The position is at the Professor level for candidates with a Ph.D., with a minimum of 10 years of experience in teaching advanced courses, in business/economics schools, at the Masters/Ph.D. level, a successful track record of research and publications, and publications in top-quality, internationally-reputed journals.

The objective of this Chair is to support the Reserve Bank of India’s decision-making process through research in Monetary and Financial Economics, Banking and real sector issues, and other related areas of interest to the Reserve Bank. The selected candidate should be capable of leading research in these areas as well as disseminating knowledge through teaching in various programmes at the Institute.

IIM Bangalore strongly encourages applications from qualified women and candidates from reserved categories. The Institute follows the Reservation Policy of the Government of India for candidates belonging to OBC (Other Backward Classes), SC/ST (Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes), EWS (Economically Weaker Sections), and PwD (Persons with Disabilities). Indian nationals and candidates with OCI/Dual Citizenship are requested to indicate the category (General/OBC/SC/ST/EWS/PwD) to which they belong in their application.

The initial term of the Chair is three years. Compensation will be on par with the emoluments applicable to faculty members at the Institute. In addition, an attractive Chair Allowance and Research Support will be provided.
