IIMB alumni Swapna Mitra and Shashank Kothi institute Shri Raghuvir Kothi Memorial Scholarship
Annual award to support the education of a girl child from the IIMB staff community
12 March, 2026, Bengaluru: Swapna Mitra (PGP 1999) and Shashank Kothi (PGP 2000) have instituted the Shri Raghuvir Kothi Memorial Scholarship at IIMB with the signing of an MoU on 12th March, marking the birth anniversary of Shashank’s father, Shri Raghuvir Kothi. The scholarship has been created to support the education of the Institute’s staff community and to honour a life that placed profound value on learning.
The scholarship will be awarded annually to one girl child of an IIMB staff member selected on a means-cum-merit basis. The award document was formally signed by Dr. Sudha Kothi, mother of Shashank Kothi.
Swapna and Shashank described the scholarship as a tribute to Shri Raghuvir Kothi’s lifelong regard for education and as an effort to extend opportunity within the community that shaped their own journey. “We are fortunate to be doing this in the memory of our beloved late father, Shri Raghuvir Kothi, who held education close to his heart. We seek your well-wishes as we continue on this journey and strive to contribute to the welfare of the society that we live in and benefit from”, said Shashank.
They expressed appreciation to Utanka Sarma and the IIMB Alumni Office for facilitating the initiative, to Prof. Vasanthi Srinivasan, Dean, Alumni Relations & Development, and Prof. Sourav Mukherji, Dean, Faculty and former Dean of Alumni Relations, for their encouragement, and hoped that the IIMB Development Foundation (IDF), under the leadership of Rohit Jaisingh, CEO, would continue to enable initiatives that strengthen the IIMB mission.
The scholarship has been instituted by members of the Kothi family, including Chetana Kothi, Ravindra Kothi, Swapna Mitra and Shashank Kothi.
