7 January, 2026, Bengaluru: National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has announced the appointment of Mr. Arunkumar Pillai, PGP 2000 alumnus, as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Pillai’s appointment comes at a significant juncture as India’s skilling and workforce ecosystem enters its next phase of scale, quality enhancement, and global engagement. With close to three decades of leadership experience across skilling, education, and workforce development in India and internationally, he brings deep expertise in building outcome-driven, industry-integrated skilling systems.
As CEO, he will focus on strengthening programme outcomes, enhancing digitalization initiatives, improving quality and accountability, scaling future-ready skills aligned with emerging technologies, and expanding international workforce mobility.
Widely regarded as a veteran of India’s skilling ecosystem, Mr. Pillai has played a pivotal role in shaping large-scale initiatives spanning policy design, institution-building, industry partnerships, and global collaborations.
