The event included workshops, a panel discussion by leaders in the social entrepreneurship space, peer-to-peer sessions and stalls. The keynote address at the event was delivered by Sameer Garde, President, Cisco India and SAARC.

IIM Bangalore provided dedicated stall space for social ventures called ‘Suite of Services,’ which offered services relevant to legal, technological, HR and branding areas to other organizations in the social sector.

The program also included a panel discussion on ‘Collaborative funding for impact – The New Mantra”. The panel discussion featured Deep Mukherjee, CEO, CII National Committee on Sports & Head, Sports Development, Star India; Shweta Sharma Kukreja, MD, Central Square Foundation; Pradeep Nair, Regional Director, Ford Foundation; Sudha Srinivasan, CEO, N/Core; Asutosh Tyagi, Head, Social Finance India; Saras Agarwal, Principal, Bharat Innovation Fund and Ingrid Srinath, Founder Director, Centre for Social impact and Philanthropy, Ashoka University. The panel discussion was moderated by Prof. Sourav Mukherji, Faculty from the Organisational Behaviour & Human Resources area, IIM Bangalore.

The same hasn’t happened in the social space. Our focus should be to build enterprises that look to disrupt areas of work and technology, and can be utilized for demographic specific groups.”

Deep Mukherjee, CEO, CII National Committee on Sports & Head, Sports Development, Star India, said: “Every school should have sports mandatory in their curriculum. Sports is not only good fitness but overall development of the child.”

Shaveta Sharm, MD, Central Square Foundation, said: “India has the largest education system in the country, but we still lack in terms of basic learning. Through the ‘School India Foundation’, we are working to improve learning outcomes of all children. To achieve our goal, we need to work with government.”

NSRCEL Social Ventures Incubation Programme at IIMB, in collaboration with the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, celebrated the graduation of its first batch of eight social ventures at the event. Initially funded at INR 18 lakh, the programme fosters cross leaning and sharing of best practices. After an 18-month incubation journey that saw its inception on September 15, 2017, the first batch of eight social ventures graduated today.
