Centre for Software & IT Management (CSITM) to host Student Innovation & Product Summit (SIPS) on 30 July 2026
Registration open until 06 July; undergraduate students invited to showcase technology-driven solutions at the national-level competition
29 June, 2026, Bengaluru: The Centre for Software & IT Management (CSITM) at IIM Bangalore will host the Student Innovation & Product Summit (SIPS) 2026, a national platform that brings together students to foster innovation, collaboration, and product thinking. The summit provides undergraduate and engineering students from recognized colleges and universities across India with an opportunity to showcase technology-driven solutions that address real-world challenges through functional prototypes.
For registration and details: Student Innovation & Product Summit (SIPS) 2026 - 2026
Last date for registration is 06 July, 2026 at 12:00 AM IST.
Themes:
SIPS 2026 invites participants to develop innovative solutions under one of three themes: AI & Intelligent Systems, Digital Trust & Infrastructure, and Tech for Impact. Teams comprising one to three members, including inter-college teams, are eligible to participate, with each team permitted to submit one project under a single theme.
Competition Structure:
The competition will be conducted in three stages. The first round, scheduled from 7–8 July 2026, requires teams to submit a seven-slide PDF presentation outlining their problem statement, target users, proposed solution, technical architecture, expected impact, and team details. Based on innovation, technical excellence, feasibility, product thinking, and real-world impact, the top 18 teams from each theme (54 teams in total) will advance to the second round. The PDF should be submitted in the format TeamName_Theme.pdf.
The second round, to be held from 10–17 July 2026, will require shortlisted teams to submit a four-to-five-minute recorded video pitch (Google Drive link with access enabled), an updated project deck (PDF uploaded to the same Google Drive folder), and a prototype demonstration link, where applicable. The evaluation will focus on prototype maturity, technical depth, communication, product thinking, feasibility, and real-world impact. Following this evaluation, the top seven teams from each theme will qualify for the Grand Finale.
The Grand Finale, scheduled for 30 July 2026 at the IIM Bangalore campus, will bring together the finalist teams to present their working prototypes before a distinguished jury comprising IIMB faculty members and industry experts. Each team will deliver a five-minute project presentation, followed by a three-minute live prototype demonstration and a four-minute jury question-and-answer session. The summit will conclude with the announcement of winners, prize distribution, and networking opportunities.
Projects will be evaluated on multiple dimensions, including problem relevance, innovation and originality, technical excellence, prototype readiness, feasibility, product thinking, real-world impact, and presentation quality.
SIPS 2026 aims to foster innovation by providing young technologists with a national platform to demonstrate their software solutions, receive expert feedback, and strengthen their product development capabilities while addressing contemporary societal and technological challenges.
