Advanced Management Programme (AMP)

The Advanced Management Programme (AMP) is designed for senior executives with over 15 years of professional experience. The programme includes a week-long international immersion at ESCP Business School in Paris, offering participants exposure to global business practices. Through this experience, participants gain insights into scaling businesses internationally and navigating cross-cultural environments. The immersion equips them with the perspective and capabilities needed to drive organizational growth and effectively address global business challenges.

Management Programme for Entrepreneurs and Family-Owned Businesses (MPEFB)

The Management Programme for Entrepreneurs and Family-Owned Businesses (MPEFB) combines rigorous classroom learning, mentorship-driven action projects and peer interactions to focus on venture growth, scaling strategies and trans-generational continuity. As part of the learning experience, participants of the MPEFB spend one week in Germany to explore potential partnerships with small and mid-sized businesses in areas such as technology, marketing, as well as other business opportunities. This international immersion is facilitated through Indian Institute of Management Bangalore’s partnership with WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management.

Leading Digital Transformation (LDT)

Leading Digital Transformation (LDT) is a part-time certification programme offered by Indian Institute of Management Bangalore in cooperation with Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS, Germany. This programme has been conceived, designed and developed to address the question of building transformational business models using technological advances. The LDT programme focuses on understanding technologies that inspire change and the ability to lead organizational transformation. The programme includes a week of immersion in Friedrich-Alexander Universität (FAU) of Germany.

General Management Programme for Aerospace and Aviation Executives (GMAE)

The General Management Programme for Aerospace and Aviation Executives (GMAE) is a certificate programme designed for working professionals in the Aerospace and Aviation sectors. This part-time executive programme focuses on enhancing strategic and managerial capabilities tailored to the unique needs of the industry.

Offered jointly by Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) and TBS Education, France, the GMAE equips participants with globally relevant business skills. Participants who complete GMAE are eligible to pursue the Global Executive MBA in Aerospace Management (GEMBA) offered by TBS Education.

International Research Centres

To focus on new and emerging areas of research and education, Centres of Excellence have been established within IIMB. The Institute has entered into international collaborations to set some of these Centres in order to facilitate initiatives among academia, industry and government agencies of partnering countries to work on areas of mutual interest.

Israel Centre

  • Inaugurated on 5th November 2017, the Centre seeks to act as a hub for research on Indo-Israeli interactions in the fields of technology innovation, business strategy and history, government policies and culture, by uniting scholars, business community and students
  • IIMB has ongoing academic programmes, research collaborations and student exchange programmes with leading Israeli academic institutions, especially with Tel Aviv University (TAU)
  • Faculty at IIMB have been involved in Israel-related research; scholars from Israel have visited IIMB for research seminars and conferences
  • IIMB has an exchange relationship with Coller School of Management at TAU
  • Technion is part of the Global Network for Advanced Management which allows IIMB and Technion students to take courses, during specific weeks, in the network’s schools

Mizuho India Japan Study Centre

  • The Mizuho India Japan Study Centre (MIJSC) is a leading networking, study and research hub for business practitioners, scholars and policy makers
  • It promotes understanding of Japan in India and India in Japan
  • It is the preferred partner for engagement and interaction among the triple helix of academia, business and government in India and Japan
  • MIJSC offers the Japanese Language Conversation and Culture Study Programme, an in-residence programme at IIMB for distinguished Japanese faculty, and sponsorship of book research and publication
  • The Centre partners with several Japanese universities, focusing on student exchange programmes
  • It funds research collaboration of Japan-India case studies on Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Labor Economics, Workforce Development, Corporate Governance & Firm Performance

Student Exchange Programmes

IIMB collaborates with reputed universities in Austria, Belgium, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, USA and Taiwan. Over 240 MBA students from IIMB opt for an exchange term at 54 partner universities in 25 nations each year and over 75 students come to IIMB from 25 partner schools and 14 nations.

A few students from the Bachelor of Business Administration in Digital Business and Entrepreneurship (BBA-DBE) programme were selected for a fully-funded two-week international immersion at Hiroshima University, Japan, under the AGILE COIL initiative, for a workshop held in September 2025. The workshop, themed on ‘Circular Economy’, brought together learners from diverse backgrounds to address global challenges under the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 11 – sustainable cities and communities through active and practical participation. The AGILE COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) initiative, delivered in partnership with Hiroshima University and supported by Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), fosters cross-cultural collaboration, leadership and global citizenship among learners from Japan and India. The initiative was coordinated by IIMB’s Mizuho India Japan Study Centre.

Global Network for Advanced Management

IIMB is the only Indian institution to be part of the global network, which comprises 33 top business schools including Yale SoM, HEC, INSEAD and NSU. IIMB offers both Small Network Open Courses (SNOCs) and Global Network Weeks (GNWs) to students from partner schools. Some courses offered in the past few years are: Leadership in a Virtually Connected World, Managing Across Cultures, Cultural Competence for Global Business Managers and Responsible People Management.

Internationalization Learning Process

Internationalization of the learning process is enabled by the large number of faculty members, including several recently hired young faculty (60 out of 108 full-time faculty), who have received their doctoral degrees from international institutions and can thus provide exposure to latest international pedagogies and practices. There are 25 faculty members with international teaching experience. IIMB also has five international faculty members in various areas, to provide greater international exposure to its students through increased diversity in its faculty body.

Technology-enabled Education: IIMBx MOOCs – Expanding IIMB’s Global Learning Footprint

IIMBx, a company promoted by IIM Bangalore, has been at the forefront of making online education accessible, affordable and adaptable. By leveraging cutting-edge technology and a commitment to quality, IIMBx caters to a global audience leveraging the edX platform. Since its inception in 2014, IIMBx has played a pivotal role in extending the reach of IIM Bangalore through Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) offered in partnership with edX, the non-profit online learning platform founded by Harvard University and MIT. This collaboration has enabled IIMB to bring its high-quality management education to a global audience.

IIMBx offers a diverse portfolio of standalone courses, Micro Masters programmes and Professional Certificate programmes, designed to meet the learning needs of professionals, students and lifelong learners worldwide. Through the edX platform, IIMBx actively engages with a broad international learner community spanning more than 140 countries.

While approximately 70% of learners are based in India, the remaining participants represent a wide global distribution. Around 19% of learners come from countries such as Egypt, Canada, Brazil, Kenya, Nigeria, Mexico, Germany and Pakistan, while 11% are from the United States, the United Kingdom and other regions. The participation of learners from developing economies highlights the transformative potential of online education in expanding access to high-quality management learning across geographical and socio-economic boundaries.

Along with offering individual courses and Professional Certificates, IIMBx currently offers three flagship Micro Masters programmes on edX:

  • Micro Masters in Business Management (launched on 4th January 2017)
  • Micro Masters in Entrepreneurship (launched on 7th April 2019)
  • Micro Masters in Product Marketing Strategy (launched on 15th April 2024)

These programmes equip learners with core managerial capabilities across areas such as accounting, finance, strategy, marketing, operations management and people management, enabling them to build strong foundations in business and management. Since its launch on edX, IIMBx has upskilled more than 214,000 learners globally, reinforcing IIMB’s commitment to expanding access to world-class management education and fostering a truly global learning community.

Alumni

The IIMB Alumni Association and the alumni community have vibrant chapters in Emirates, Singapore, the Nordic Region, Continental Europe, United Kingdom and US East.

Recent Collaborations

  • In February 2026, IIMB’s innovation and entrepreneurship hub NSRCEL hosted a high-level French delegation, including French start-ups working in AI, for discussions on opportunities for cross-border collaboration between corporate enterprises, founders and ecosystem leaders.
  • In December 2025, a collaboration was formalized between IIMB’s Supply Chain Management Centre (SCMC) and ASCELA Management Consultancies L.L.C., Dubai, through the signing of an MoU facilitated by the IIMB Development Foundation (IDF). The collaboration will see the two organizations engage in joint consulting and research initiatives, global deployment of IIMB’s transportation emissions tools, case study development, executive education programmes, co-hosted industry forums and co-authored white papers focused on supply chain management and sustainability. 
  • In October 2025, the Office of International Affairs at IIMB hosted senior delegates from the French Consulate, Aix-Marseille University and ISC Paris for discussions on strengthening academic collaboration.  
  • In September 2025, IIMB hosted a summit with the US Consulate General in Chennai, for discussions on the priorities of the current US administration and upcoming Consulate-led initiatives, particularly in industry-academia partnerships and the commercialization of research. Opportunities for future collaboration with IIMB were also explored in areas such as supply chain, corporate governance, innovation, intellectual property rights and entrepreneurship.
  • In July 2025, NSRCEL, in collaboration with the AsiaBerlin Summit, hosted a cross-border event that brought together innovators from India and Berlin. The event comprised discussions on female-led innovation in emerging and climate-forward sectors.

Research Output: International Journal Articles, Books, Chapters in Books, Cases and International Collaborations

  • In 2024-25, there were 91 journal publications, two books, 20 book chapters and 38 case studies, along with 11 international collaborative research projects. Over 49 international researchers visited IIMB to deliver seminars. Faculty authored 25 cases distributed through Harvard Business Publishing (HBP).
  • In 2023-24, there were 97 journal publications, three books, 17 book chapters and 28 case studies, along with 13 international collaborative research projects. Over 40 global researchers delivered research seminars at IIMB. Faculty authored 19 cases distributed by Harvard Business Publishing (HBP).
  • In 2022-23, there were 82 journal publications, nine books, 10 book chapters and 30 case studies, along with 19 international collaborative research projects. Over 36 international researchers visited IIMB for research seminars. Faculty authored 15 cases distributed through Harvard Business Publishing (HBP).
