22 November, 2023, Bengaluru: Professor Gopal Mahapatra, faculty in the OB&HRM area at IIMB, invited two industry leaders – Ravikiran Annaswamy and Dharma Teja Gorrepati – to deliver special lectures to PGP students as part of his course, ‘Leadership in the Digital Era’, on 22nd November 2023.
Ravikiran Annaswamy, Co-founder and CEO of Numocity Technologies, spoke of the various challenges he and his team faced with different telecom projects and shared some experiences of his entrepreneurial focus and journey. Describing his time with telecom MNCs, he spoke of the contrast between cultures. He has over 28 years of experience as an entrepreneur and business leader at Nokia Siemens Networks and Siemens AG. He is currently Global President and Board Member of the 72-year-old IEEE Technology and Engineering Management Society.
Dharma Teja Gorrepati is CEO of Ninestar Groups. Having worked in the automobile Industry right out of college, his passion for automobiles brought him back to the current business that he leads. His past experience includes working for corporates like GE and Oracle for a period of 13 years in various roles. He is a strong proponent of experiential learning. In his lecture today, Dharma told students about his entrepreneurial journey in the automobile industry and how the digital era influenced his journey. but He said values and beliefs, including but not restricted to self-learning and unlearning, help in building a successful entrepreneurial career.
The two talks were followed by a Q&A session.
