IIM Bangalore to welcome the 23rd PGPPM cohort on 17 August
Keynote by Dr. Swati C. Saxena on public policy, economic growth and human resilience to mark the inauguration of the 2026-27 batch
24 July, 2026, Bengaluru: IIM Bangalore will inaugurate the 23rd batch of its Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM) on 17th August 2026 in Classroom Q-101, with participants joining in a hybrid format.
The inauguration will feature a keynote address by Dr. Swati C. Saxena, Former Director, Gender, Poverty and Social Policy Division, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Speaking on ‘The Pathway from Economic Growth to Human Resilience through the Instrumentality of Public Policy’, Dr. Saxena will examine the role of public policy in translating economic progress into inclusive and resilient development.
The event will begin with a welcome address by Prof. Arnab Mukherji, Chairperson, PGPPM and faculty of Public Policy, followed by the inaugural address by Prof. U Dinesh Kumar, Director-in-charge, IIM Bangalore.
Prof. Mukta Kulkarni, Dean, Programmes and faculty of Organizational Behavior & Human Resources Management, will address the incoming cohort, while Prof. Gopal Naik, Chairperson, Centre for Public Policy and faculty of Public Policy, will provide an overview of the policy ecosystem at IIM Bangalore.
The orientation will also include a programme briefing, an introduction to library resources and services, and a session on learning and teaching through the case method by Prof. Sourav Mukherji, Dean, Faculty and faculty of OBHRM.
On 18th August, participants will hear from Prabhakar Sinha and Nivya P. Shetty from the PGPPM 2025–26 Batch, followed by an overview of the programme's online learning components by the IIMBx team.
