Prof. Rusha Das invited as Visiting Scholar by Exeter Centre for Environmental Law and Exeter Business School

 Prof. Rusha Das

Opportunity to be a significant step towards research in environmental governance and sustainability

18 February, 2025, Bengaluru: In another notable recognition of her academic contributions, Prof. Rusha Das of the Public Policy area has been invited as a Visiting Scholar by the Exeter Centre for Environmental Law (ExCEL) in Cornwall and Exeter Business School, University of Exeter, for a month-long engagement during June and July 2025.

The prestigious opportunity will enable Prof. Das to engage with leading scholars in environmental governance, as well as initiate institutional collaboration at the intersection of law, policy and business. The visit will not only enhance her own scholarship, but will also further augment IIM Bangalore’s global research footprint in environmental governance and sustainability.

According to a communication from the University of Exeter, Prof. Das’ research focus on environmental governance, law and politics aligns closely with ExCEL’s commitment to transdisciplinary research in environmental law, policymaking and governance. During her visit, she will engage in research discussions, collaborative workshops and interdisciplinary exchanges with the Environment and Sustainability Institute (ESI) and the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Cornwall, drawing on her work on Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), the National Green Tribunal, and environmental contestations surrounding Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) laws in India. The visit will offer opportunities for comparative legal analysis, engagement with ExCEL’s research community, and contributions to ongoing discussions on regulatory frameworks, environmental justice and policy implementation.
