IIM Bangalore and Wipro to host International Sustainability Conference: Advancing the Global Sustainability Narrative
75 research paper presentations across 15 academic and industry tracks to drive cross-sector dialogue on sustainability
24 April, 2025, Bengaluru: The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), in collaboration with Wipro Limited, will host the International Sustainability Conference, taking place April 24–26, 2025, across the IIMB and Wipro Kodathi Campuses. Under the theme, ‘Advancing the Global Sustainability Narrative: Business, Policy, and Societal Imperatives’, the summit will convene thought leaders, practitioners, policymakers, and academics dedicated to shaping a sustainable future.
Jointly organized by the Supply Chain Management Centre (SCMC) at IIMB, and Wipro Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of Wipro Limited, the three-day event will deliberate on actionable pathways to address pressing challenges in environmental degradation, social inequity in the workplace and value chain, and critical matters of corporate governance.
The conference will feature over 75 research presentations across 15 tracks on ESG reporting, circular economy, green financing, digital sustainability, and inclusive development.
Pradeep Bhargava, Chairman, MCCIA Electronic Cluster Foundation (MECF) Ltd, Pune; Prof. Viral Acharya, C.V. Starr Professor of Economics, NYU Stern School of Business; and Nitin Paranjpe, Non-Executive Chairman, Hindustan Unilever Limited, will each deliver the keynote across the three-day summit.
The agenda features plenary panels and breakout sessions covering ESG disclosures, governance, decarbonization, and social sustainability, the dilemmas of creating stakeholder value rooted in values, and the ethical frontiers of emerging technologies like AI and genomics. Participants will also be invited to experience a guided tour of Wipro’s green campus and sustainability initiatives.
“In a world that is increasingly brittle, anxious, non-linear, and incomprehensible, sustainability is no longer a choice, but a shared responsibility”, said Prof. Sourav Mukherji, OB&HRM area; Prof. Haritha Saranga, POM area; and Prof. P.D. Jose, Strategy area, co-chairs of the conference from IIM Bangalore.

The event is expected to host over 200 participants from India and abroad, including business leaders, ESG professionals, government representatives, faculty, and students.
