The IIMB team comprising Vikram Gupta, Nishant Kanhurkar and Sayantan Das of the 2021-22 batch, bagged the top spot out of six teams which made it to the final round in a contest which saw over 500 registrations

08 February, 2022, Bengaluru: A team named ‘Mavericks’, comprising Vikram Gupta, Nishant Kanhurkar and Sayantan Das, all students of IIMB’s one-year fulltime MBA - Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP), 2021-22 batch, has been adjudged the national winner of the online case competition ‘Hôtelverse’, conducted by the Residential Affairs Council, International Management Institute (IMI), New Delhi. The contest was held from January 10, 2022 to February 05, 2022.

Hôtelverse is IMI’s first ever inter-college competition and is a fusion of a quiz, a case study, and a presentation, giving participants the chance to put on their thinking hats and test their understanding of various aspects of Management and Hospitality.

The event witnessed great enthusiasm from participants, with over 500 registrations that came from B-schools across India. After the initial quiz-based round, the remaining teams had to work on a case which tested the participants’ Business Strategy and Management skills against an intriguing problem of the Hospitality industry.

Altogether six teams advanced to the final round where they had to present their solutions to an elite panel of judges. After more than three hours of presentations and intense question-answer rounds, Team ‘Mavericks’ from IIM Bangalore was declared the national winner. The award will include Certificates of Recognition and a cash component.

Team ‘Alpha Warriors’ from IIM Ahmedabad and Team ‘Wizards at Work’ from TAPMI Manipal finished as the first and second runners-up respectively.
