Bengal ex-governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi hails rise in age of consent

Addressing students at the 17th International Conference on Public Policy and Management by Centre for Public Policy, IIMB, Gandhi hailed Har Bilas Sarda for first introducing the Child Marriage Restraint Act in late 1920s and raising age of consent to 14 for girls. "You would be horrified by 14, but that was a huge leap," he said.
