23 March, 2021: The Analytics Society of the students of the two-year MBA programme at IIM Bangalore hosted the third edition of Spectra, the annual analytics festival, on March 19th and 20th , 2021.
This two-day event aims at helping students keep up with the changing dynamics of the real world. With a case event, along with on-the-spot events and social media engagements, Spectra combined analytics with fun and was able to generate keen interest amongst participants from within and beyond IIM Bangalore.
‘Bits & Bytes’, an analytics case competition, was organised in association with Wells Fargo, a financial services company. The nationwide case competition received participation from top business schools and engineering colleges and provided exposure to the students to real-time problem statements. The jury consisted of Naveen Yeri, Sr. VP, Head of Enterprise Analytics & Data Science and Manish Pandey, Advanced Analytics Manager, Wells Fargo, and Jitamitra Desai, faculty and Chairperson, Decision Sciences area, and Chairperson, Supply Chain Management Centre, IIM Bangalore.
Spectra also hosted a series of fun events, virtually. ‘Treasure Hunt’ engaged the participants with multiple puzzles based on a TV series theme and analytics, and garnered huge interest with over 300 students turning up to find the hidden treasure. ‘Crossword’, a speed-based contest, tested the participants’ knowledge of analytics and technical jargon.
