Prepares for Placement Process of Largest Batch Size to Date
The Final Placement process for the PGP Class of IIM Bangalore graduating in 2014 will begin on February 10, 2014. Over 60% of the candidates have prior work-experience of more than 2 years in various sectors including finance, consulting, analytics, software, manufacturing and operations.
The Lateral Placement process, which precedes the Final Placement process and ran for 7 weeks this year, witnessed a whole-hearted participation from industry across multiple sectors. The number of students placed in the Lateral Placement process is the highest ever, with significant number of opportunities in Leadership, General Management and Program Management.
Over 125 companies are expected to participate in this year's PGP final placement season starting February 10, 2014. The companies not only represent sectors that recruit regularly from IIM Bangalore such as Strategy and Finance but also burgeoning sectors like Online Retail, Analytics, Real Estate, Health Care and the Social Sector.
According to Professor Sankarshan Basu, Chairperson, Office of Career Development Services, IIMB: "The summer placements in November 2013 saw over 400 students offered internships by 135 companies in less than 3 days. We are confident that this positive sentiment exhibited by recruiters will continue to the final placement season at IIMB and we will ensure that all the aspiring students get employment opportunities of their choice".
