Consultative Workshop on Healthcare Quality

The second consultative workshop under the 'Fostering Knowledge Implementation Links' Project (FKILP) was held on 8th June 2011 at IIMB. The theme of the workshop was healthcare quality. It was attended by 54 participants including the Health Secretary, the Mission Director, National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), other senior officials from the Department of Health and Family Welfare Services (DHFWS), Government of Karnataka, researchers, representatives of non-government agencies, practitioners and management faculty. The presentations and discussions focused on concepts of quality management and insights gained from other sectors; ongoing quality initiatives at the national, regional and local levels; assessments of the quality of healthcare services in Karnataka; and the way forward for quality improvement in public healthcare facilities.
