10 February, 2026, Bengaluru: The Office of Research and Publications (R&P) will host the Summer Research Methodology Workshop 2026 from 20–25 April, in Classroom N101, IIM Bangalore. The workshop, which will be hosted in recognition of the importance of research in today’s academic world, is aimed to benefit academic researchers, specifically PhD students and early career faculty at management institutes and business schools, in their area of research and publication. The faculty of IIM Bangalore will anchor the six-day workshop.

The Programme Directors are Prof. Sushanta K Mishra, OBHRM area, Chairperson, Research and Publications, IIMB, and Prof. Deepak Chandrashekar, Strategy area, IIMB.

Important Dates

The last date for application submission is 9th March 2026. The names of shortlisted candidates will be released on 16th March 2026. Shortlisted candidates, who confirm their registration with the programme fee by 5th April 2026, may avail the early-bird offer.

Content and Structure

The Workshop will consist of two tracks: Track 1 includes dedicated sessions on Qualitative Comparative Analysis and Network Analysis, and Track 2 includes dedicated sessions on Event Study Methodology, Applied Econometrics, and Difference-in-Differences. Both tracks will comprise common sessions on qualitative and quantitative methods, experimental design, and meta-analysis. The workshop will also feature a panel discussion with a focus on research and publication.

Application Process

Interested PhD candidates/early career faculty should submit their application through email, with valid proof of registration to a doctoral programme/institutional affiliation from the candidate's official email to randpworkshop@iimb.ac.in.

The application must include the candidate’s name, designation, and institutional affiliation, along with a one-page CV and a one-page Statement of Purpose (SoP); please note that the SoP will play an important role in the selection of candidates.

Fee Structure

The participants will be charged a programme fee of INR 25,000/- (including GST) for six days, the fee is inclusive of lunch and refreshments during tea breaks for the duration of the workshop.

The early-bird participants (who register and make the payment by 5th April 2026) will be charged an all-inclusive programme fee of INR 20,000/- only.

Note: The programme fee is not inclusive of accommodation. Selected candidates are requested to make their own accommodation arrangements. Alternatively, the Research and Publications Office could provide options for (on-campus) accommodation (hostel/guest house) on request, subject to availability.

Certificate of Participation

The Certificate of Participation will be awarded to the participants upon successful completion of the workshop.
