Doctoral Programme Reunion Feb 2nd- 4th, 2024

As part of the institute’s Golden Jubilee celebration, the Doctoral Programme organized a reunion of FPM/PhD alumni, faculty, and staff on Feb 2-4th, 2024. This reunion coincided with the IMR Doctoral Conference 2024. The purpose of the event was to celebrate the talents and achievements of alumni of the Doctoral Programme.

  • Flashback Panel Session: The early days of the Doctoral Programme at IIMB, how it evolved and what the future holds
    Description: IIM Bangalore hosted a vibrant three-day (2-4 Feb) meet for alumni of its Doctoral Programme. It was an honour to have two former chairpersons of the programme, Prof. T Krishna Kumar and Prof. Chiranjib Sen, share highlights of the early days with Prof. K Kumar (FPM-87), Prof. Gopal Mahapatra (FPM-82), and Prof. Vasanthi Srinivasan (FPM-89).

    Description: Sunil Koshy is a techie turned Singer, Music Director and Vocal Coach. Sunil Koshy has worked with legends like Hariharan, KS Chithra, Kumar Sanu, singer Srinivas, Jassie Gift, and many top musicians of the country. At the reunion, Sunil enthralls and engages the audience in a programme filled with musical melodies.

  • Crossroads Panel Session: Trailblazing Non-academic Careers of IIMB Doctoral Programme Alumni
    Description: Dr. K P Krishnan (FPM-1999), Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay (FPM-2007), Dr. Divya Tiwari (FPM-2000), and Dr. Pankaj Bagri (FPM-1999) were in conversation with Prof. Sourav Mukherji (FPM-1998), on their career choices and the influence of the FPM/PhD programme on those choices.

  • Radhika Joshi Concert
    Description: Our alum, Dr. Radhika Joshi (FPM 2011) is an accomplished artist in the field of Hindustani classical music, hailing from the prestigious Jaipur Atrauli Gharana. She has trained under the guidance of Pt. Raghunandan Panshikar, a disciple of the legendary Gaansaraswati Kishori Amonkar. Radhika begins her recital with a classical (khayal presentation) followed by a few semi-classical compositions such as thumri and dadra. Radhika ends her recital with Raga Bhairavi in which she presents a self-composed composition.

  • Director Interaction with Alumni
    Descriptor: Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director of IIM Bangalore, interacted with doctoral programme alumni on 3rd February, advising them that as brand ambassadors of IIMB, they need to excel in their respective spheres, whether in academics, research, or industry. Prof. RT Krishnan also provided an overview of the institute, its programs, new initiatives, and the second campus at Jigani. He added, “We are keen to offer degree programs with greater impact and have plans to launch an online program on Digital Business and Entrepreneurship Research. Meanwhile, our basic objective in offering high-quality teaching, and research continues.”
